Bergamot is a group of varieties from the citrus genus that grows to around four meters. Bergamot takes its name from the Italian town of Bergamo.

The essential oil has a direct effect on the central nervous system, thereby relieving physical and mental tension.

This essential oil became known through its use in colognes and Earl Gray tea.
